      <image:title>Editing - Quartz</image:title>
<image:caption>As deputy Ideas editor at Quartz, I sought out experts at the forefront of fields including technology, transhumanism, mental health, human rights, aerospace, psychology, food security, climate policy, artificial intelligence, geopolitics, the world of work, and so much more. In speaking with founders, politicians, scientists, and scholars, I was able to bring shape to their visions of a future that people otherwise can’t see. Highlights of my work leading Quartz Ideas include an account from a leader of Hong Kong’s protests, a surprising breakthrough in archaeology that wouldn’t be possible without global warming, a look at why Google, Facebook, and other tech giants are making philosophers the next essential hire, and an investigation into the world behind the NRA’s seemingly invincible business model. In other pieces, the COO of Shopify explains the moral benefits of influencer commerce, a Netflix co-founder explains away the myth of luck and, in something of a foreshadowing, the CEO of Upwork urges cities to factor remote workforces into urban plans. More recently, I worked with experts to explain five things that won’t change after the global pandemic—and some things that surely will, such as cultural practices of grief and the way we seek and maintain romantic connections. Along with Quartz Ideas, I edited contributed articles for Quartz At Work, where I brought readers new knowledge, pro tips, and bold discoveries from founders, managers, workplace experts, and others.</image:caption>
